Fish is one of my favorite animals to craft. Do you know why? Because there are over 30,000 species of fish in the world. That is a lot, right? That is also why fish are so fun to craft because they all look different in size, color, and pattern. So many creative possibilities!
For this fish craft, we will use colorful paper in any color you like. If you don’t have colorful paper, cut a square from regular paper. We also created a YouTube video from this paper fish craft, so make it extra easy for yourself and watch the video before you start crafting. Enjoy!
To make these leaves you will need:
Colorful paper
Scissor
Glue stick
Scale
Pencil
Sketch pen

Step-by-step instructions on paper fish craft
Step 1: Gather the craft supplies and watch the YouTube craft video above
Step 2: Pick your favorite color of colorful paper or a square piece of paper (from 15/15 CM or 20/20CM)
Step 3: Fold your paper in half so you end up with a triangle
Step 4: Lay your triangle in front of you with the folded side up and the open side down.
Step 5: Take a scale and pencil and make minor marks, about 1.5 CM, along the sides of your paper.
Step 6: Cut strokes upwards with a scissor
Step 7: Open up your paper and fold the strokes to the middle center (see picture below).
Step 8: Fold the strokes individually (left and right) and glue them in the middle.
Step 9: Leave the tail of your fish open and glue at the center and cut ( (see picture below).
Step 10: If you like, you can cut out a face for your fish and add a heart-shaped mouth and a googly eye otherwise use the sketch and make simple eyes.
There you go, your DIY paper fish is ready. You can make and store a ton of these fish to use later.
